ILLUMINATED MICA POWDER
Mica powder is the crushed form of the mineral Muscovite, part of the quartz family. Iridescent muscovite sheets are extracted from the ground before being processed into a fine powder.
​
Natural oxides are applied to the mica powder by heat giving rise to a magnitude of colour options. Unlike pigments, which only portray colour, mica powder maintains its shimmering iridescent properties from its original crystal structure.
The translucent nature of resin allows for the interplay of textures and tones derived from mica powder, resulting in a unique and eye-catching visual experience.

Resin Vault is proud to produce a new kind of resin art entitled 'Mica Illumination'. Our signature resin paintings are laced with LED's hidden behind the foreground, adding motion to a stationary object and illuminating the mica mineral to its full potential.
